Q: Who is your favorite villain from a book?

beauty queens

Hmm . . . favorite villain.  Well, one of the most entertaining villains in a book was Ladybird Hope from Beauty Queens by Libba Bray.  She was definitely scary, but in a sort of realistic way.  And her interviews for Barry Rex were hilarious!

Who’s your favorite villain?  I admit, I don’t know if I LIKE any villains, but I get that they need to be in books.

Yeah, Ladybird Hope is an interesting character. Actually all the characters in Beauty Queens are pretty interesting.

Can’t wait to read this one! Libba Bray is always my favourite. Her villain in The Diviners, Naughty John, is terrifyingly evil! So scary!

Sounds interesting. I’ve not read Beauty Queens yet but one day soon.
    Thanks for sharing this week.

I love that her name is Ladybird Hope! The girls that come to my library LOVE Libba Bray, but I’ve yet to read any of her books. I think it’s about time I got started!

I’ve only read two of Bray’s books – Beauty Queens and A Great and Terrible Beauty. I thought Terrible Beauty was okay, but I loved Beauty Queens. Yeah, Ladybird Hope is an awesome name for this character 🙂

Very interesting…I like it. I read this last Sept. and really liked it. Curve ball choice! There aren’t enough villains in contemporary fiction – really true villains. Good choice!

Great pick. I haven’t read that book but she sounds like a real villain. Thanks for sharing and visiting my FF. =] Followed through Twitter. =]
