How far would you go for a friend?

Back in San Francisco preparing for her big art show, Vicki Bennett needs help protecting herself and her career from the unwelcome advances of one of the judges. She knows that her longtime friend and baseball star, Ryan Sullivan, will know just how to handle things, and he's the only person she can imagine asking for help.

Ryan is thrilled to have Vicki back in his life, and he will do anything to protect her from harm, including playing the role of "pretend boyfriend." But when their staged kisses and caresses lead to an incredibly sensual night, they both worry that they may have damaged their friendship forever.

Have they made the worst mistake possible? Or is the perfect combination of friendship and love finally within reach?

Lately, I just cannot get enough of The Sullivan Series by Bella Andre on audio. I’ve been flying through the series and loving every minute of it. Let Me Be the One is another awesome romance novel in this series.

Let Me Be the One is about baseball star Ryan Sullivan, and his best friend from high school Vicki Bennett. For real, I just love the friends-to-lovers trope, and this one did not disappoint. Although Ryan and Vicki were best friends in high school, they haven’t seen each other in years. But when Vicki text’s Ryan saying she needs his help, he’s there for her, and then ROMANCE happens.

I fell for Ryan pretty quickly. There is just something about sports guys, even though in real life, I couldn’t care less about sports. But athletes in romance – yes please! Anyway, I just love how Ryan rushed to help Vicki. That’s just the way he is. Ryan is protective and caring and gorgeous, and seriously, I just adore him.

Vicki hasn’t had the best last few years. Her first marriage was a bit of a disaster, and her ex is still messing up her life. She really wants to win this fellowship, but needs Ryan’s help to discourage a judge from getting too touchy-feely with her. Vicki is a strong woman, and doesn’t want to impose on Ryan at all. She totally loves him but doesn’t want to do anything to risk their friendship.

I will say that I did get a little frustrated with Ryan and Vicki when they were trying to figure out exactly what they were to each other. There were a few instances where I thought if they would just talk to each other about how they were feeling, they would have been so much better off. But nothing got too angsty, and seriously, I was so happy when they got their HEA. Let Me Be the One is another fantastic contemporary romance novel.

This is me too, Quinn! I don’t care for sports at all, but I love sports guys in books. You’re making me want to drop everything and just get a start with this series.
I feel like angry slapping characters when they don’t talk to each other about their feelings! It can be so frustrating for readers. I’m glad this was a sweet read, Quinn! 🙂

I really like The Sullivan series. Some I like more than others, obviously, but overall they are really comforting easy reads.

Also, so glad we agree on sports guys! 🙂

I read one book by Bella Andre several years ago. I liked it, but got distracted from reading the rest of the series. But I enjoy the friends-to-lovers trope when it’s well done, and lucky me – I already have this one on my Kindle! Time to bump it higher up the TBR list.

I love an athlete hero and the friends to lovers trope is one of my favorites so I think the 2 of them combined would be pretty amazing! I know I have two of Andre’s books and one was the one you reviewed yesterday. Maybe the other is this one? I hope so!
