A former football star and one of Chicago’s top prosecutors, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cade Morgan will do anything to nail a corrupt state senator, which means he needs Brooke Parker’s help. As general counsel for a restaurant company, she can get a bug to the senator’s table at one of her five-star restaurants so the FBI can eavesdrop on him. All Cade has to do is convince Brooke to cooperate—and he’s not afraid to use a little charm, or the power of his office, to do just that.
A savvy businesswoman, Brooke knows she needs to play ball with the U.S. Attorney’s office—even if it means working with Cade. No doubt there’s a sizzling attraction beneath all their sarcastic quips, but Brooke is determined to keep things casual. Cade agrees—until a surprising turn of events throws his life into turmoil, and he realizes that he wants more than just a good time from the one woman with whom he could fall terrifyingly, irresistibly in love . . .

Julie James’ contemporary romances on audiobook may just be my newest obsession. I’m feeling QUITE addicted. Love Irresistibly by Julie James is the fourth book in the FBI/US Attorney series, and I really couldn’t ask for more from a contemporary romance.

Love Irresistibly focuses on Cade Morgan, an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago, and Brooke Parker, the general consul for a restaurant company in Chicago. They meet because Cade needs Brooke’s help in an investigation of a corrupt state senator. Naturally, they are super attracted to each other straight away.

Brooke is such a totally awesome character. She’s in her early 30s, super smart, with an excellent career, great friends,  and she’s super sassy, too. Like seriously, she’s so sassy, and I just loved all the quips she had for Cade. Cade is a hero I can totally get behind! He was on track to be a professional football player until an injury in college ended his career. Now Cade is an Assistant U.S. Attorney and he takes his job super seriously.

I absolutely LOVED Cade and Brooke’s first meeting. For one it totally sets up exactly who these two characters are. I was able to get a good grip on both of them in a matter of minutes. And also, Brooke is not a pushover and that is totally awesome! But I also loved seeing Cade in that meeting, too, because he’s not a pushover nor he is too pushy!

The romance between these two was just so good. They aren’t really looking for anything special, but that’s what happens between them. There was a time or two when I thought if they were actually honest with each other, there wouldn’t be a ton of heartache later on, but, it all works out in the end.

I have to mention, too, that the narrator of Love Irresistibly, Karen White, was great. I pretty much listened to the whole audiobook (around 10 hours) in one day because I just couldn’t get enough! The story was awesome, the characters were awesome, and the narration was awesome. I’m ready for more Julie James!

I think Karen White has narrated some of Kill Shalvis’s books too. Don’t quote me on that, though. You should totally read Julie James! I think you will really liked this books. they are just so much fun.
