I know everyone says this, but it’s so true. The older you get the quicker time flies. I can’t believe it’s 2017. 2016 was filled with ups and downs, but for the most part it was a positive year for me. As for reading, I started off really strong at the beginning of 2016, but then I fell into some ruts the second half the of the year.

I did pretty well for the challenges from 2016. If you look at my sidebar you can see my progress. I do still have a few more books to add to those, but my reviews won’t be going up until later this month. The only challenge that I didn’t complete was the Historical Romance Challenge. I actually read 23 out of 25, so I’m pretty happy with that.
For 2017, I’m not going to focus on genre like I did in 2016. Here are the challenges that I will be participating in this year.
2017 Reading Challenges

2017 Audiobook Challenge
Hosted by Hot Listens and Caffeinated Book Reviewer
(for details on the challenge, click the link).
The point is to listen to audiobooks, which is a format I’m a huge fan of.
My Goal: Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) – 50+ audiobooks
Last year I listened to nearly 80 audiobooks, which is insane! However, I don’t think I will listen to as many this year because I’ve fallen madly in love with podcasts and that has drastically cut into my audiobook time. Still, I think 5o is doable.

The Backlist Reader Challenge 2017
Hosted by The Bookwyrm’s Hoard
(for details on the challenge, click the link)
This challenge is all about reading backlist items (published before 2016) that have been on your To-Read list. I think this will be a great encouragement for me to read older books and to shrink my TBR.
My Goal: 30 books.

2017 New to Me Challenge
Hosted by Herding Cats and Burning Soup/The Herd Presents
(for details on the challenge, click the link)
This challenge focuses on trying out new books, whether they are new authors, or a new genre, or a new series. I think this challenge will encourage me to try out new books. I tend to stick to the authors that I love, but trying new to me books is a good thing.
My Goal: 25 Books

Goodreads Challenge
Of course, I will be participating in this annual challenge.
My Goal: 155 books.

Happy New Year, Quinn!
Good luck on your goals. I’m not doing any official challenges this year, other than the GR challenge, but I’m doing a couple of my own personal ones, like series a month, backlist and diverse reads.

I had to take some time to decide if I wanted to do challenges, too. I’m really excited about the ones I signed up for, and I did keep my goals fairly reachable.

Great choices! I thought about the audio challenge and The Backlist challenge looks like a great one. I’m not doing any but Goodreads though I’m unofficially doing the Pop Sugar and Modern Mrs. Darcy ones. Good luck in 2017!
Quinn's Book Nook
I need to check out the Modern Mrs. Darcy challenge!
Candice @ The Grown-Up YA
Go Quinn!!! Sounds like some really great reading challenges. I got into podcasts for a little bit and really enjoyed them; maybe I need to start them back up again! No reading challenges here… other than Goodreads. Good luck to you!
Quinn's Book Nook
I’m obsessed with podcasts!!!!!!! I am always looking for new ones, but I only have a few favorites.
Genesis
I’m participating in the Goodreads challenge, among a few others. But wow your goals are well, goals haha I usually read more than 150 a year but I always set my goal for 100 because some months I focus more on going out and not reading so I’m afraid I won’t complete a challenge. Anyways, good luck!! <3

I tend to set goals that I know I can reach. So are they really goals, when I know I will do them anyway? I’m not sure. 🙂
I have months where I read a ton, and others were I don’t. Usually it all evens out.
Charlene @ Bookish Whimsy
This year has gone by so fast! I’m glad I didn’t set up a Goodreads Challenge for myself – I definitely wouldn’t have made it. 🙂 Good luck with these challenges! Are you listening to any new podcasts?
Quinn's Book Nook
These are the podcasts I love. Lore (seriously one of my favorites, so thanks for the rec), Smart Bitches Trashy Books Podcast, Appointment Television and My Dad Wrote a Porno. I love those ones so much!
Sophia Rose
Last year was fast for me, too. You did do great on your challenges and interesting about the change over to more audios. That happened to me, too.
Cheering you on for this year’s challenges. I’m doing the audio and GR ones with you.
Quinn's Book Nook
Audiobooks are so great! About half of the books I read last year were audiobooks. I do love them.

Happy New Year Quinn. Time really does fly and sometimes I feel like I am doing it by the seat of my pants..lol I am so glad you are doing the audiobook challenge and I think trying new authors and series is awesome. When I finally learned to DNF, it really allowed me to take chances. I hope you discover some new favorites!
Quinn's Book Nook
Thanks for hosting the Audiobook Challenge. It’s one of my favorites!
anna @ herding cats & burning soup
Not bad at all, Quinn! Good luck with all of your challenges this coming year 🙂

Great goals here.

Thanks.

I’m doing the Goodreads challenge for the first time this year. I’m also doing the backlist challenge and the new to me as well as the pick your genre challenge. I’m determined to knock off a bunch of books on my TBR this year.
Quinn's Book Nook
I really want to tackle a bunch of books on my TBR, too! So hopefully we will be able to do that. Good luck!
