There’s no such thing as a little in love…
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust…
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as…
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along…
Despite a rocky first start with Sweet Little Lies, I’ve been enjoying Jill Shalvis’s Heartbreaker Bay series. I was pretty darn excited to get my hands on Accidentally on Purpose, the third book in the series. Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis was amazing, and even with my extremely high expectations, I loved every minute of this book.
Accidentally on Purpose centers around Elle Wheaten and security expert Archer Hunt. Readers have seen Elle and Archer circle around each other in the previous books in this series, and I couldn’t want to see these two finally get together! The chemistry between these two is off the charts, but I loved them just as much individually as I did together.
Elle is such an amazing woman. She’s very put together, always looking her best. She’s come a long way from a very unpleasant childhood, which is very inspiring. Although she has so much to be proud of, she is still a bit insecure about her early life. I cannot adequately explain how much I loved Elle. In the previous books in the series, she was a bit intimidating, and I worried that I wouldn’t be able to identify with her. Happily I was so wrong, because Elle is impossible not to love.
Now Archer was one swoon-worthy hero. He’s totally alpha, strong, in command, calm and capable. And, even more importantly, he’s a nice guy. Archer has some issues, too, of course, largely stemming from his strained relationship with his father. And while he cares immensely for Elle, he’s trying to deny his feelings. Of course, he can’t keep it up, and thank heaven, because Elle and Archer are amazing together.
Their romance was just so perfect. There is lots of snark, and bickering, but it’s also very obvious how much they really care for each other. And even though this is a little push/pull, it never got annoying. It felt so natural as Elle and Archer worked everything out.
And of course, this being a Jill Shalvis novel, the side characters were ever so wonderful. It was great seeing the other couples from the previous books, and seeing them help Archer and Elle get their acts together.
Basically I loved just about everything about Accidentally on Purpose. I simply couldn’t put the book down. This is Jill Shalvis at her best.
