Podcast Review: Appointment Television

I heard about Appointment Television from Jennifer over at Feminist Fairy Tale Reviews, and it’s definitely a fun  podcast. Three friends, Margaret, Kathryn and Andrew, discuss TV each week (on Thursdays). I will admit that most of the TV they talk about are shows I’ve never watched. But I don’t mind, and sometimes I decide to watch something based on what they say (The Great British Bake-Off, for example).

It’s very clear that these three know a lot about TV, and I love the sometimes intelligent, sometimes silly conversations they have about different TV programming. They have lots of fun segments including a TV Book Club, where they let listeners know ahead of time what show they will be watching, and they they discuss it, and my favorite segment – TV vs. TV where they decide which TV Show best exemplifies a certain subject.

But what I love the most about Appointment Television, and why I don’t really mind listening to their podcast when I often haven’t seen the shows they are discussing, is the rapport they have with each other. They always make me giggle, and that is always a good thing.

So, if you’re a TV fan (or maybe if you aren’t) definitely look into Appointment Television.

I keep hearing about the Great British Bake Off but haven’t watched it yet – what do you like about the show? This podcast sounds like a great introduction to new (or new-to-me) TV shows!

GBBO is fantastic. And I’m so glad you recommended this podcast to me. I have become podcast obsessed! It’s really cut into my reading time. Any podcasts you want to recommend to me?

How are you doing, by the way. I miss your posts!
