July Wrap-Up – Surfacing from 7-Month Reading Slump!

What’s Been Going On?

Hello my friends! It’s been a month since I came back from my June Hiatus, and I’m feeling good. This year has been a tough one for me. Certainly the state of the U.S. has been very stressful for me (and so many others!), plus I started a new job (which has been an adjustment, especially because I loved where I worked before). All that, plus being in a months-long reading funk, well I haven’t been a very happy camper.

But, you guys! I think, finally, I’m coming out of this reading funk.

I actually read 3 books in four days, and have been wanting to read more! Which is amazing and wonderful. I’m so glad to finally want to read again. I haven’t felt that much this year, and definitely not at all consistently this whole year.

I still didn’t read my normal amount of books in July, but I’m feeling good with my nine books.

Books Read in July

Stranded with a Billionaire by Jessica Clare – 4 Stars
Venetia by Georgette Heyer – 4 Stars
The Billionaire and the Virgin by Jessica Clare – 2.5 Stars

Splendid by Julia Quinn – 3 Stars
An English Bride in Scotland by Lynsay Sands – 4 Stars
Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts – 3.5 Stars

Mister Hockey by Lia Riley – 3 Stars
Run to Ground by Katie Ruggle – 4 Stars
Your Inescapable Love by Layla Hagen – 4 Stars

I really loved the books I read this month. Obviously some more than others, but overall I was happy with all the books. My two favorite were Your Inescapable Love and An English Bride in Scotland.

Obsession of the Month

Reading Journals!
I’ve been really interested in reading journals lately. I’ve set one up for myself that is sort of like a bullet journal, but not in a notebook, and with no planner in it. I’m still working on it, but once it’s ready, I plan on sharing it on the blog. I’m having so much fun with it. It combines some of my favorite things – reading, paper crafting and planning!

oh it looks like you had a wonderful month here darling. And read some great books. I just loved English Bride in Scotland as well, that book was so dang good. If you haven’t read the rest of the series, you will love the other books too. I love the characters she writes in these books.

Glad that you are feeling more up to blogging and reading! I hope your new job is working out well too! I love the idea of a reading journal – I’m very curious to see what your doing with it!

Yeah for getting out of a reading slump! Those are so awful. I am interested to see what you thought of Venetia. I have been meaning to try Georgette Heyer for awhile.

Yay for getting out of your funk! It’s so frustrating when books just aren’t sticking. You have some great reads! I’ve read the Julia Quinn and the Nora Roberts and really enjoyed both. And all the rest of the books look great! I’m dying with curiosity over your reading journal! I’ve been wanting to do something bullet journal-y but am not sure I want a full planner so I love looking at what everyone is doing.
