Top Ten Romantic Movies

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Today’s TTT topic is a Romance Freebie. But I talk about romance all the time so I was having a difficult time coming up with a new topic and one I hadn’t done before. Then I saw Renee’s post about romantic movies and was totally inspired. So here are some of my favorite romantic movies, and you should totally take a look at her favorites.

In no particular order . . .

You’ve Got Mail
This is one of my all time favorite movies. It just makes me so happy, and they are so perfect together.

Beauty and the Beast
I loved this movie, and a large part of my love for it is because it’s so romantic. Are the songs as amazing as the original, no. But the ROMANCE is so good!

Strictly Ballroom
I have been obsessed with this movie lately. Seriously, if you haven’t seen you, you need to!

While You Were Sleeping
I have loved this movie since it was released years and years ago. Actually, I could go for a re-watch right now.

Pride and Prejudice
So I love both of these versions so much! I love Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy so much. But, and I know not everyone is going to agree with me, but I love Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennet. I love her Lizzy more than I love Jennifer Ehle.

North & South
Richard Armitage is EVERYTHING!

Ever After
Another movie that I have loved since it was released in the late 90s. And I would so love to re-watch this, too.

Bride and Prejudice
I can never get enough of Pride and Prejudice, and this adaptation is a lot of fun.

The Scarlet Pimpernel
Percy steals my heart every time. His love for Marguerite is so sweet and amazing.

What are some of your favorite romantic movies? I have so many others that I love, but these are at the very top of my list.

I’m not a huge fan of romance in movies for some reason, but YES to Pride and Prejudice!! I also really loved North & South. And do you know, I’ve never watched You’ve Got Mail??? Shame on me!

You should totally watch You’ve Got Mail. It is also about books a lot, especially for Meg Ryan’s character who just loves them so much. And it’s funny and sweet, and sometimes a little sad.

I love romantic movies, but I don’t really like romance in TV shows.

I love both versions of Pride and Prejudice. I completely agree about North and South. Richard Armitage is amazing! Ever After is a favorite of mine as well. Great list! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

Oh wow, so many of my favorites! I’m not much of a romance reader, but I’m clearly a romance watcher. 🙂 Ever After is so amazing — I end up rewatching it every couple of years or so. I love North and South, and Pride and Prejudice — but Bride & Prejudice is absolutely one of my all-time loves! I do need to watch The Scarlet Pimpernel — I read the book recently, but have never seen a movie version. Great post, great movies!

It’s kind of funny but while I love romance books I don’t tend to go from romance movies unless it’s a romantic comedy. I did love You’ve Got Mail and the Kiera Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice. I’ll add the others to my To Watch list.
